About

Enter your cat’s picture for a chance to be the “Cat of the Week” on our YouTube channel’s Community Post section!

How it Works

Submit a photo and brief bio of your cat using this entry form. Every Caturday (Saturday), one lucky cat will be featured as the “Cat of the Week” in a Community Post. This form automatically resets after it reaches 50 participants. After the reset, you can enter again if you’d like!

***UPDATE***

Starting December 7, 2024, Cat of the Week will be a Community Post instead of a video segment. We are doing this as an experiment to see if it will help with video retention rates. If after some time it makes little to no difference, we will go back to video segments. However, if it helps, it will remain in the Community Post section.

FAQ

Q. Why are you doing this experiment?
A. We are making small changes to the channel to help our videos be promoted more often in YouTube’s algorithm. One factor that YouTube uses to determine if a video is worth promoting is the retention rate (how long a viewer watches a video). The longer the retention rate, the better! So we figured a shorter outro is worth testing.

Q. Will anything else change for Cat of the Week?
A. Nope! The form’s instructions are still the same. The winning cat’s photo and biography will still be featured. The only difference is that it will be displayed as a Community Post instead of a video segment. As a perk, this actually makes it faster and easier for winning guardians to find their cats.

Q. Where are the Community Posts?
A. On our YouTube channel! You can find the Community Post section here:
https://www.youtube.com/@ThePurringJournal/community

Q. Can we (the viewers) do anything to help?
A. Yes! Whenever you watch one of our videos, it helps to:
1. Subscribe to the channel (if you haven’t already).
2. Click the like button.
3. Leave a comment.
4. Click and watch another video displayed on the end screen. —> VERY helpful!
5. Finally, if you really want to go the extra mile, sharing the video with other cat lovers helps too.

We appreciate this community’s continued support and look forward to this month’s upcoming cat videos!
